The 13th annual McKercher Cup Mock Trial Competition for high school students. The mock trial competition recreates the dramatic centre of the justice system by allowing participants to play roles in trial, including prosecutor, defence counsel and witness. Such a "hands-on" learning activity provides students with the opportunity to learn the basic facts about court room procedures, rules of evidence and various legal concepts inherent in a criminal trial including "innocent until proven guilty". This year's McKercher Cup is scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Queen's Bench Court House in Saskatoon (520 Spadina Crescent East).
