Are you a judge or someone trying to recruit judges? You've come
to the right place!
For more information on judging with SEDA please see our Judges
Brochure. It is full of information on what to expect at your
first tournament and what to expect from debate in general.
Any judges interested in volunteering for tournaments in the
upcoming season please fill out our online
Judges Registration form.
So, you've been recruited to be a debate judge. Don't panic!
You don't need to be an expert on the topic or on debate - just willing to listen, evaluate and share your feedback.
We have a couple of resources to get you started:
Review SEDA's Guide to Judging before a Tournament
Watch SEDA's Introduction to Debate and Judging Video (coming soon!)
Attend the briefing prior to the start of the Tournament - bring a friend - more judges are always welcome!
Wondering what to expect at a tournament? Review SEDA's Judging FAQs
Whether you are a dedicated judge, former alumni or just interested in getting involved, we'd love to hear from you. Tournaments are for more than just the debaters. Community participation is essential to the exchange of ideas!
As you may be aware, recruiting judges is the most time-consuming task of hosting a debate event. In order to make things easier for our hosts, SEDA is putting together a judging registry for various communities.
To be a part of this registry, email us:
● Your name
● Your email address
● Your work/home phone number
● The community (city, town) you'd like to judge in
● The frequency you'd like to be contacted (all tournaments, just
1, etc.)
This information will only be shared with our hosts for the
purposes of asking you to judge a debate event.
Thank you for your involvement!
